Removing or Deleting an Appliance from the Enterprise
Removing an Appliance
You can remove an appliance from an enterprise if you want to reassign it to another site, make it an isolated test appliance in a limited enterprise of its own, or replace a failed appliance.
NOTE: All appliances in the network must be online with the exception of the appliance being removed. This ensures the integrity of data throughout the enterprise.

-
In the Imprivata Appliance Console, open the Enterprise tab. A list of appliances appears.
-
Select the check box next to the appliance you want to remove, and click Remove Appliance. A warning message prompts you to confirm the removal of the appliance from the enterprise.
-
Select the check box in the warning dialog and click Remove Appliance. The enterprise is locked while the appliance is deleted. No further changes can be made to the enterprise configuration. This process can take up to 20 minutes.
After you remove an appliance from service, you can replace it, or delete it from the enterprise entirely.
Permanently Deleting an Appliance
You should only delete an appliance that you do not want to rejoin the enterprise or will be replaced. All backup data is stored on the other appliances in the enterprise. Non-Imprivata configuration settings specific to this appliance will be lost and must be manually re-entered if the appliance is replaced.
NOTE: All appliances in the enterprise must be online with the exception of the appliance being deleted. This ensures the integrity of data throughout the enterprise.

-
Remove the appliance from the enterprise as detailed in Removing or Deleting an Appliance from the Enterprise.
-
After you remove an appliance a Permanently Delete link appears beside its listing in the Enterprise tab.
-
Click Permanently Delete. A warning message prompts you to confirm the deletion.
-
Select the check box in the warning dialog and click Delete. The appliance is immediately deleted.
