Upgrading Imprivata IPMs

Imprivata releases a software upgrade as an Imprivata Package Manager (IPM) file. The Packages page of the Imprivata Appliance Console displays the IPMs that are installed on the appliance.

NOTE: Packages are digitally signed by Imprivata. Unauthorized or modified packages cannot be installed on the Imprivata appliances.

Updating Imprivata Agents

If the upgrade includes an updated Imprivata agent, then the new agent must be distributed to users.

There are two ways to update your users’ Imprivata agents:

If Imprivata agents are set to auto-update (this setting is on the Imprivata Admin Console Properties page), then they are updated automatically on the next refresh interval (after the IPM has been installed).
If some users’ Imprivata agents are not set to auto-update, then you must push the appropriate MSI file. The files are in the Imprivata Admin Console, under the Properties page in the Agent Deployment tab. Instructions are included on the page.
