Imprivata OneSign ProveID Client

Imprivata OneSign ProveID Client allows an external application to access the Imprivata agent’s authentication services and devices. When triggered by a calling application, Imprivata OneSign ProveID presents a challenge to verify the user’s identity.

Before You Begin

  • Use the Imprivata Application Profile Generator (APG) to profile the target application. The list of Imprivata OneSign application names is generated from the list of Imprivata OneSign application profiles.

  • Get the application name from the application provider; use the exact name used by the application provider.

  • Set Configure ProveID Administrator privileges for Administrators as needed at gear icon > Administrator Roles option.

NOTE: The Imprivata OneSign ProveID Client works only with applications that are explicitly configured by the application provider for use with Imprivata OneSign ProveID Client.

Interactive Authentication No Longer Supported

As of January 1, 2019, Imprivata will no longer support ProveID Client Interactive Authentication. To continue to offer two-factor authentication, contact your EMR provider to determine if they support Imprivata Confirm ID.

Configuring an Application for Imprivata OneSign ProveID Client

Configuring an application for Imprivata OneSign ProveID Client requires mapping the name used by the application provider to the name used in the Imprivata OneSign application profile. In the Imprivata Admin Console, go to Applications > Single sign-on application mapping:

  1. Click Add Application Mapping.
  2. Enter the application name in the External Application Name boxes on the left. Imprivata OneSign relies on a text match, so use the exact name used by the application provider.
  3. From the drop-down list on the right, select the corresponding OneSign Application Profile Name.
  4. You can map multiple external application names to a single Imprivata OneSign application profile. Use the Or... selection to add another mapping to the same Imprivata OneSign application profile.
