Installing ProveID Embedded on Dell Wyse Thin Clients
Dell packages Imprivata ProveID Embedded for Dell Wyse thin clients as a ThinOS package named "Imprivata_PIE". You can install this package either directly at an individual thin client using a USB drive and the Dell Admin Policy Tool, or to multiple thin clients in a group via remote push using the Dell Wyse Management Suite. The next two sections describe these installation methods.

NOTE: The USB storage device must have FAT32 format. Dell Wyse ThinOS can't natively read NTFS format.
To install the Imprivata package:

Download the Imprivata_PIE package from the Dell Support site and put the package on a USB drive.

Open the Admin Policy Tool on the ThinOS client.
The Configuration Control | ThinOS window is displayed.

Click Advanced.
-
In the Firmware field, click Application Package Updates.
-
Browse and upload the package from the USB drive.
-
From the Select the ThinOS Package(s) to deploy list, select the uploaded package.
-
Click Save & Publish.
The thin client restarts and the application package is installed.

Before performing this procedure, you must first do this in the Wyse Management Suite:
-
Create a group with a group token for the ThinOS devices on which you want to install the Imprivatapackage.
- Register those ThinOS devices to the Wyse Management Suite using that group token.

To install the Imprivata package:

Download the Imprivata_PIE package from the Dell Support site and put the package where you can access it from the Wyse Management Suite.

In the Wyse Management Suite, go to the Groups & Configs page and select the group containing your thin clients.
-
Click Edit Policies and select ThinOS 9.x.
The Configuration Control | ThinOS window appears.

Click theAdvanced tab.
-
In the Firmware field, click Application Package Updates.
-
Click Browse and select the application package to upload.
-
In the Select ThinOS Package(s) to deploy list, select the package.
-
Click Save & Publish.
The thin clients restart and the application package is installed.

The following sections describe how to import the Imprivata appliance's SSL certificate manually into one thin client or remotely into multiple thin clients using the Wyse Management Suite.
NOTE: Before performing the procedures below, read Step 5: Upload the SSL Certificate to Thin Clients.

NOTE: The USB storage device must have FAT32 format. Dell Wyse ThinOS can't natively read NTFS format.
To import the SSL certificate:

Save a copy of the SSL certificate to a USB storage device.
-
Plug that storage device into the thin client.
-
On the thin client, click System Tools > Certificates.
-
In the Import From list, select USB Storage.
-
Click Import, browse and select the certificate, and then click OK.
-
Restart the thin client.

Before performing this procedure, you must first have done the following in the Wyse Management Suite. If you followed the procedure in Install the Imprivata Package Using the Wyse Management Suite, then you already did the first two items:

Created a group with a group token for the ThinOS devices.
-
Registered those ThinOS devices to the Wyse Management Suite using that group token.

Uploaded the Imprivata appliance's SSL certificate to the repository at Apps & Data (tab) > File Repository > Inventory.

To import the SSL certificate:
-
In the Wyse Management Suite, go to the Groups & Configs page, and select the group for the ThinOS devices.

Click Edit Policies and select ThinOS 9.x.
The Configuration Control | ThinOS window appears.

Click the Advanced tab.
-
Expand Privacy and Security, and click Certificates.
-
Enable Auto Install Certificates.
-
In the Select Certificates to Upload list, select the Imprivata appliance's SSL certificate.
-
Click Save & Publish.
-
After the certificate is imported to the thin clients, restart them.

You remove Imprivata ProveID Embedded by uninstalling the Imprivata package from the thin client. You can uninstall the package locally at a thin client, or you can uninstall it remotely from multiple ThinOS clients using the Wyse Management Suite.
Uninstalling ProveID Embedded Locally From One Thin Client
To uninstall the package locally on one thin client:

Log into the ThinOS client.

From the system menu, go to System Tools > Packages.
-
Select the Imprivata package and click Delete and OK.

Restart the thin client.
Uninstalling ProveID Embedded from Multiple Thin Clients Using Wyse Management Suite
To uninstall the package on multiple thin clients:
-
Create a policy to remove the package.
To create a policy in the Wyse Management Suite:
-
Go to Apps & Data > App Policies > Thin Client.
-
Click Add Policy.
The Add Standard App Policy window is displayed.
-
Enter the Policy Name.
-
In the Group list, select the group of the devices to remove the package from.
-
In the Task list, select Uninstall Application.
-
In the Application list, select the Imprivata application.
-
In the OS Subtype Filter and Platform Filter lists, select any filters appropriate to your installation.
-
In the Apply Policy Automatically field, specify to apply the policy automatically.
-
Click Save.
An Alert window is displayed to schedule the app policy.
-

Select one of these options:
-
Click Yes to remove the package from all thin clients in the group, and go to step 3.
-
Click Later to remove the package from a subset of thin clients in the group, and then:
-
Go to the Devices page and select the devices from which you want to remove the package.

From the More Actions list, select Schedule App Policy.
-
The App Policy Job window is displayed.
-

In the Policy list, select the policy you created to remove the Imprivata application.
-
In the Run list, select Immediately.
-
Click Preview and then click Schedule.
-
After the package has been removed from the thin clients, restart them.
