Gatekeeper System

The Gatekeeper System is the application that you installed on your Windows or Linux server. With this application, vendors can access your server complying with the configuration and settings that you establish in the Gatekeeper UI. To open your Gatekeeper, open your preferred browser and navigate to: http://localhost:4680.

To access your Gatekeeper, you must have registered it during the Gatekeeper Installation.

Application Settings

The Gatekeeper System has additional settings that you cannot access through the Gatekeeper UI. To access these settings, access your Gatekeeper System in your web browser at the http://localhost:4680 URL. From the home page, click Settings.

  • Custom HTTP(S) Proxy Settings: Toggle the Custom HTTP(S) Proxy Settings on to establish a custom proxy server. Ensure that you save your proxy settings. You may need to register your Gatekeeper again. Contact your vendor to receive another registration code.

  • HTTP Tunneling Mode: Change the HTTP Tunneling Mode between Compatibility Mode or High Performance. To ensure that you have the adequate settings, you can run a Connectivity Test with the following steps:

    1. Click Help from the top menu.
      A drop-down menu displays.

    2. Click Connectivity Test.
      The Connectivity Test page opens.

    3. Click Start Test.
      After you complete the test, your HTTP Tunneling Mode will be set to the mode that best fits your connection.

  • Encryption Cypher:Change your encryption preference between:

    • 128 bit AES

    • 192 bit AES

    • 256 bit AES

  • Debug Mode: Toggle the Debug Mode to reduce verbosity from your log files.

  • View Only Mode: Toggle the View Only Mode to disable your vendor to make changes during Desktop Sharing sessions. Read the Gatekeeper UI document for more information.

  • Enable Backup Pruning: Set the number of days that are backed up by your Gatekeeper.

  • Advanced Settings: Select to do one of the following:

    • Reset Gatekeeper Registration: Disconnect the Gatekeeper from the server until you input a new registration code.

    • Disable the Gatekeeper: Disable all connections to the server until you manually enable the Gatekeeper again.

  • Password Settings: Set a password for your Gatekeeper, which will be required to all users, including vendors, every hour. This setting also sets the password to request an API Token.

Help Menu Drop-Down

The HELP drop-down contains the following elements:

  • Connectivity Test: Run a connectivity test to ensure your Gatekeeper is connected to the server. This test sets the best connection type for the HTTP Tunneling Mode.

  • Download Logs: Click to download the activity and audit logs from your Gatekeeper.

  • User Manual: Open the page with the most common support requests. If you have issues that are not addressed in the User Manual or in this documentation site, contact success@imprivata.com.

  • About: View the information of your Gatekeeper, including version, registration code, Java version, and components information.
