Imprivata Patient Access 2026.3 contains the following new features and technology updates.
New Features
Epic Welcome Kiosk Accepts 2-Digit Values for Birth Year
The Epic Welcome kiosk now accepts 2-digit values for a patient's birth year.
Removed the Done Screen from the Registrar Client User Interface
This release removes the Done screen from the Registrar Client user interface.
Features from Previous Releases
Re-enrollment within the Verify Workflow
Allows registrars to overwrite an existing facial enrollment directly within the Verify workflow when authentication fails, and the captured photo does not match the current enrollment. The Registrar Client user interface displays the original enrollment photo, requires ID confirmation, and clearly warns users before replacing the existing biometric.
Upgrade Patient Access to .NET 10
This update upgrades the Patient Access application framework to .NET 10 to ensure continued platform support, security updates, and long-term maintainability.
Notify Registrars that Patient was Enrolled via Magic Enrollment
This feature adds a Registrar Client user interface notification that flags when a patient was enrolled using an existing Epic photo, shown at the first registrar touchpoint with the patient.
Removed the Photo Scoring from the Registrar Client User Interface
This update removes numeric photo scoring and the red/yellow/green status from the Registrar Client user interface, replacing it with a binary outcome after photo capture: Green = Pass and Red = Fail. This reduces confusion by eliminating score interpretation, reinforcing that feedback reflects photo quality (not "accuracy") and increasing user confidence in captured photos.
Self-Enrollment from Epic Welcome Kiosks
Allows patients to complete identity proofing and self-enroll in Imprivata Patient Access from Epic Welcome Kiosks. Enabling self-enrollment at Epic Welcome Kiosks allows customers to enroll a larger percentage of their patient population and increases the overall value and utilization of Patient Access.
Epic is a registered trademark of Epic Systems Corporation.
Multiple Appointment Workflow
The Registrar Client user interface enables you to capture one patient photo and check the patient in to multiple appointments during their visit. Patients often have consecutive appointments at the same location. This workflow eliminates redundant steps, reducing check-in times and improving both patient and staff efficiency.
Epic MyChart Account Creation
Allow patients to create an account in Epic MyChart by leveraging their existing Patient Access enrollment or by providing a government-issued ID along with a selfie. This feature provides Epic customers with a convenient and secure way for patients to onboard into MyChart and Patient Access, streamlining access to critical healthcare information after their appointment.
Emergency Search
Enables Emergency Department staff to identify unresponsive patients in exceptional circumstances using a photo of the patient’s face. This feature enables fast, automated identification to improve patient safety and reduce the creation of placeholder “John Doe” records.
