Prevent Accidental Character Input in Credentials Fields

Configure Imprivata MDA to prevent users from accidentally typing characters on password or PIN credential screens. This is helpful for customers that don't use proximity cards as the authentication method to Imprivata MDA and use password authentication and PIN unlock features. The feature changes the Imprivata MDA authentication interface behavior and provides two levels of mitigation for a user accidentally typing characters on password or PIN credential screens:

  • The Android Soft keyboard is not opened automatically when Imprivata MDA displays a password or PIN screen.

  • Characters typed on credentials screens are cleared from the fields when a user doesn't type or submit credentials within 15 seconds.

The feature covers the following scenarios:

  • Password and PIN authentication screens.

  • Password and PIN multifactor authentication screens.

  • PIN enrollment (numeric and complex).

  • Out-of-band password change authentication.
