Preparing to Create Application Profiles

An Imprivata OneSign APG profile allows the Imprivata agent to recognize and respond to authentication requests from a given application. You must have a profile for any application for which you want to enable single sign-on.

If you plan to create your own profiles, you can review the following topics for useful background information:

  • Application Types — Describes the most common types of applications you might want to profile. Different applications types may require different approaches to profile creation.

  • Application Screen Types — Outlines the different types of application screens, as defined by the Application Profile Generator, and their roles in an application profile.

  • Using Shared Credential Stores — Explains how to create a store that allows applications to share credentials. This streamlines the process of enrolling and managing credentials for your users.

  • Multiple Accounts — Explains how to configure Imprivata OneSign for users who have multiple user accounts.

  • Support for Google Chrome Applications — Contains information about profiling Chrome-based web applications.

  • Support for Applications that Run in Edge Chromium — Contains information about profiling Microsoft Edge Chromium-based web applications.

  • Application Profile Generator Support for Chrome and Edge Chromium — Describes APG support for different application types on Chrome and Edge in recent OneSign releases, support for application profiles created before OneSign 7.9, and support limitations for Internet Explorer compatibility mode in Edge.
