Configuring an Error Message for Failed Password Reset

By default, a generic error message informs a user that the password reset attempt failed because the new password does not meet the length, complexity, or history requirements. Configuring a custom error message lets you provide additional text to help the user better understand the composition and history rules.

NOTE: This functionality is supported on Microsoft Active Directory domains only.

To configure the message:

  1. In the Imprivata Admin Console, go to the gear icon menu > Settings page.
  2. Go to the Domain password section and enter a custom error message in Password change failure error message.

NOTE: To reset the message to the default value, click the text field and then click X.

  3. Click Save.
