Log Events

System logs are an effective tool for investigating issues that arise in running your Imprivata PatientSecure installation. Only Owners have access to system logs.

To open the Imprivata PatientSecure log:

  1. In the Admin Console, go to Troubleshooting > Log Events.

    The Log Events page lists messages in the last 24 hours (default), with the most recent message at the top of the list.

  2. Locate a message in the list and view a summary of the message.

    Click the message row to view the entire message. The message includes the following information:

    • Date

    • Endpoint Host

    • Hostname

    • Application

    • Log level

    • Message

  3. To filter the list, select one or more options in the left pane:

    Item Description
    From and To

    Enter the date and time range for logged events to return, or click and select the date and then click and select a time.

    Endpoint hosts Select one or more endpoint hosts from the drop-down list.
    Hostnames

    Select one or more hostnames from the drop-down list.

    TIP: When you begin to type the hostname, the next matching name appears in the list.

    Applications

    Select one or more applications from the drop-down list.

    TIP: When you begin to type the application name, the next matching name appears in the list.

    Log Level

    Select one or more levels of information captured in the log:

    • Verbose

    • Debug

    • Information

    • Warning

    • Error

    • Fatal

    Text Search

    Enter one or more keywords.

  4. Click Search.

    The Log Events list updates with matching log entries.

  5. To save the Log Events list to an Excel (.XLSX) file, click Export in the top-right corner of the page.

    The file is saved to your local Downloads directory.
